Favorite Dupe Friday!

            Priming your face before applying your makeup is essential! There are hundreds of primers out there so do not be alarmed if you are not sure as to which might be best for your skin. One of my personal favorites is by Smashbox. It is a photo finish primer that focuses on color correcting, which is for dark and light spots just to give an even tone. This brand can get a tad bit pricey but do not worry, there is an alternative for just about every prestige product.

            Hard Candy is a great brand and it has many dupes in its line of makeup. There is a sheer envy dark spot correcting primer that I can say that for the price, I could do without my Smashbox primer! Both of these products have the same purpose which is to take away the dark circles, spots while giving your face a fresh tone to then begin applying makeup.

            There is just one difference between these two unbelievable products, their price! The prices of all Smashbox products are the same price just about everywhere, this specific primer is about an ounce and costs $39 online and at any store that carries this brand. In comparison to the 1.6 ounce of Hard Candy Primer, it is about $8 and can be found at Walmart!

There are many individuals who decide not to use a primer, whether they just don’t like to, don’t see the need to or maybe they just don’t understand the importance of using one. Growing up with an older sister, I wanted to be just like her. Just like every other younger sister in the world.  I wanted to dress like her, talk like her, have my hair just like hers and follow her everywhere that she went. I always wanted to play dress up in her closet and as we got older, she started wearing makeup so of course I wanted to follow right in her footsteps. Wanting to be just like my sister turned into me being obsessed with makeup.

I love to try new products that fall into the cosmetic category and review them by giving the pros and cons of them. I enjoy comparing the different brands and see what works best for my face. A few of my favorite high-end brands are Anastasia Beverly Hills, Smashbox and Tarte and I am a fan of the drugstore brands, Hard Candy and Maybelline!

My main focus is to advise young women with any common makeup tips. In addition to suggesting alternative products that may be easier on the pockets! I hope to entertain and educate individuals on the different brands of makeup and their purposes.
