The eyes are usually the first thing that someone notices about you and of course you want them to make a statement! Wearing false eyelashes can become a burden and even sometimes damaging to your natural lashes, so mascara is a more popular go-to for many.

To find a mascara that works well and you are obsessed with is the key! You want to find a great mascara that adds volume, enhances the fullness of your lashes as well as thickening them. You do not want to have to overuse the mascara which will result in a spider effect or very bad clumping.

I have two favorite mascaras that I have been using and always recommend to anyone who asks. My first go-to is Better Than Sex which is made by Too Faced and the other is Perversion from Urban Decay! You can find either of them at just about any makeup store, probably more convenient to find at Ulta. The Better Than Sex mascara is priced at $23 and the Perversion mascara is priced at $22.  Both of these mascaras give a really great all day wear, which is important. With applying two or maybe even three coats, you can notice the dramatic difference.

It is important to know that mascara does have an expiration date, which is typically between 2 and 6 months so of course, not everyone is thrilled with spending that kind of money for that short period of time. Luckily, there are two really impressive dupes that you can find at your local drugstore!

In comparison to the Better Than Sex Mascara, Rimmel has a great dupe. Scandaleyes Retro Glam by Rimmel can easily be compared. Target sales it for under $4, which is great when saving almost $20.

Urban Decay’s Perversion can be compared to Maybelline’s Full & Soft mascara! Luckily, Target sells this dupe for $7 as well.

Remember that a great mascara will give that “false lash effect” and have everyone asking if your lashes are natural!

There are hundreds of brands and thousands of shades! The key is to find one that matches your skin tone, stick to it and fall in love! This can be difficult for a beginner but with the right guidance and assistance, you'll find just the right one. 

Over the years, I have ran through all types of brands and shades depending on what time of the year it is. I am just about over the top obsessed with all Smashbox products so their foundation is my first go to. Their particular foundation, Studio Skin gives great coverage for my uneven skin tone and can be applied 2-3 for an even better coverage without the " Cake effect ", which I love! It has a 15 hour wear and leaves your face looking refreshed and feeling as though you have no makeup on at all. On the downside, this foundation is priced at $45 and can be found at a local Sephora or Ulta.

Everyday wear of this one-ounce foundation can hurt your pockets, thankfully I have found a much less costly alternative. 

In comparison to Studio Skin, Maybelline has a line by the name of "fit me", which has hundreds of combinations for all skin tones. It has the option between a matte finish or a Dewy finish which is a plus if you have dry or oily skin. It gives a really good coverage once applied for 2-3 layers and stays on for a few extra hours compared to other drugstore foundations. Maybelline’s Fit Me is a great foundation to use for an everyday wear and it is also a great idea if you'd like to just alternate and save your prestige brands. Absolutely love this drugstore foundation for many reasons, not only because you can find it for less than $6 but that it a huge plus, right?             Priming your face before applying your makeup is essential! There are hundreds of primers out there so do not be alarmed if you are not sure as to which might be best for your skin. One of my personal favorites is by Smashbox. It is a photo finish primer that focuses on color correcting, which is for dark and light spots just to give an even tone. This brand can get a tad bit pricey but do not worry, there is an alternative for just about every prestige product.

            Hard Candy is a great brand and it has many dupes in its line of makeup. There is a sheer envy dark spot correcting primer that I can say that for the price, I could do without my Smashbox primer! Both of these products have the same purpose which is to take away the dark circles, spots while giving your face a fresh tone to then begin applying makeup.

            There is just one difference between these two unbelievable products, their price! The prices of all Smashbox products are the same price just about everywhere, this specific primer is about an ounce and costs $39 online and at any store that carries this brand. In comparison to the 1.6 ounce of Hard Candy Primer, it is about $8 and can be found at Walmart!

There are many individuals who decide not to use a primer, whether they just don’t like to, don’t see the need to or maybe they just don’t understand the importance of using one.
